Chrissi Cowhey is a creative director, graphic designer and educator whose work draws on roots in fine art and literature while reflecting high levels of concept and craft. Spanning identity, print, digital, and environmental, her portfolio includes work for clients that range from Fortune 500 corporations to cultural institutions. She has developed a particular focus on collaborating with artists and museums such as the Art Institute of Chicago, Pulitzer Arts Foundation, Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, and the RISD Museum. Before starting her own practice, she worked at Studio Blue, Abrams Books, VSA Partners, and Two Twelve Associates, among other studios. She has also taught as an Assistant Professor of Communication Design at Washington University in St. Louis and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago.

Chrissi’s work has earned awards from the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), Design Observer, Graphis, the Society of Typographic Arts, and is included in the Chicago Design Archive. She holds an MFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and a BA in English and Studio Art from Middlebury College.
